Unanswering Mage

Another redraw to make Neith more justice~ This one's the original.
I remember doing pretty fucking big wall of texts to practice my English back then, but now I feel more confident tbh so I'll spare you those haha.

So let's sum up who Neith is real quick, or maybe not so quick:

Neith Albinson is, simply put, someone that was born to be a mage.
There's an unique type of energy in Neith's world  that can only be described as magic because it does things that science and research cannot explain completely. Magic is summoned with words and thoughts combined, and two 'mages' must form a pair to harness its power.

Neith is naturally talented at languages, she's enthusiastic about new places and cultures, and over anything else, she's protective of the people she loves, like her younger brother.
There's also a long-winded war going on in Neith's world.

Sadly, she was born to be a mage indeed.

She has the required skills to be one, she could easily be paired with her brother, and with some manipulation she wouldn't hesitate too much to join the mage forces and become one.
And that's exactly what happened. Neith's parents, both notedly influential veterans that refuse to use magic anymore, were kidnapped by 'opposing individuals' from the other side of the war.

There were many attempts to rescue them but to no avail. Neith and her brother Richard grew tired and joined the mage forces themselves, albeit reluctantly.

There are not many actual mages in the war. Both 'sides' consists of a couple of hundreds and no more. Becoming a mage is excruciatingly hard, so every two mages that can join the fight are immensely valuable.

Later on, Neith managed to rescue her parents and there was much needed relief. However something was wrong:
Neither she or Richard could suddenly stop being mages even if they wished. They were now actively participating in the war that their parents escaped from a long time ago and nothing could be done about it.

However, not some time after that, Marcus, childhood friend of the siblings, helped them discover something grim.

It wasn't so much that their parents were kidnapped, as it was that the mage forces allowed their parents to be kidnapped.

Neith's own country intended to let the other faction of the war get to her parents knowing that they would be a valuable target. And in that way they could make her and her brother become mages against their own wishes.
Of course, they were never supposed to know this, and it was denied every time Neith demanded an explanation with lousy excuses.

Shortly after that, Neith burned the grimoires of her fellow allied mages in a fit of rage.
She became a traitor alongside Richard and Marcus, and they go from place to place looking for other rebels and trying to find their own way to put a stop to the war that made them mages.

Neith was born to be a mage, but she won't answer to anybody.

Okay that doesn't feel that much shorter form the original haha~ But it works.
There's still some things to explain about Neith's world, how magic works, and the other 'main character's, let's say, of her story~

But I'll do those later with more drawings instead of squeezing everything into a single post~
Either that, or you can go look at my crappy old drawings for explanations that I may not think are cannon anymore (?)

Anyway, I reeeaaaaally hope you like this drawing because it took me so much effort.
So so much effort. ♥ (?)
Also I'll put my drawings in the anime category again because they're more weeb than ever before (?)
